Due to ongoing growth, Radius Payment Solutions, a leading global fleet management company, are looking for a Head of Marketing -Telecoms to join our Marketing team at our head office in Crewe.

The new Head of Marketing – Telecoms will lead a team of people who are responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for Radius’ telecoms businesses and brands across the globe as they emerge and grow.

Fundamentally, the role is responsible for successfully integrating marketing into the heart of these businesses and to make it the true engine behind the upcoming step-changes in acquisition then sales and profitability growth in the next five years. More broadly, the role will also consider the role of telecoms customers in the growth of other Radius businesses and products as well as how those augment the core offers. The role will initially have one direct report and forms part of the marketing management team for Radius reporting to the Group Marketing Director. The Radius marketing team consists of 25 people worldwide.

What will you be doing as Head of Marketing – Telecoms?

Strategy

• Creation, execution and on-going evolution of the in-country marketing strategies and resultant plans for all countries (prioritising as appropriate in terms of activity).
• Continuously synthesise over time what we know about the environment, markets, key players (customers, suppliers, intermediaries, competitors etc) and ourselves to do things better than competitors and take tangible advantage. Instil a thirst in the in-country teams to continuously strive for this.
• Link the strategy to the performance management of the businesses – understanding and improving where in-country marketing can focus to add value to help fulfil business objectives.
• Develop a top-level customer segmentation, ensure the businesses understand it and continually develop and enhance our value propositions to win and retain customers.
• Responsible for all outbound marketing activities, working closely with the fuel campaigns team (data strategy and proposition).
• Feed into the development and ongoing execution of a brand framework for the Group.
• Knowledge sharing across countries and into inbound lead generation and marketing services to enhance content outcomes and to ensure our outward image to the market is the same as our desired image

Product management

• Responsible for the product strategy and management of the suite of mobile and fixed-line products and product-related services in-country (including new product/service development). Working in close association with the product team at Adam Phones (Radius acquired the business in the UK).
• Responsible for the development of tools and services that can augment the product offer across all countries.

Customers

• Responsible for understanding and analysing all aspects of existing and potential customers (characteristics, needs and expectations, buying processes, alliances and relationships, perceptions and sentiment and behaviours etc.) to continuously improve how we acquire new customers, retain existing customers and drive cross-sell opportunities for other Radius products.
• Be actively involved in continuously improving how the business acquires, houses, uses and updates customer data – with both the broader Radius strategy as a filter as well as the requisite data regulations.
• Responsible for executing systematic/automatic customer communications for various ends in all markets (and the content of all communications plans).

What skills do you need as Head of Marketing – Telecoms?

• A marketing professional with experience of having led a marketing team in a similar role in a B2B context – preferably for a telecoms related business.
• A strong people manager who also takes an active responsibility for the personal development of themselves and their team.
• Ability to indirectly lead and manage diverse and remote teams.
• Skilled and committed to identifying new marketing opportunities and solving problems across the business – as well as a bias for action.
• The ability to think on your feet and make good decisions combined with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business.
• Customer-centric approach – considering the end customer in everything that marketing works on.
• Educated to undergraduate or masters level (or equivalent – e.g. CIM qualifications).
• Excellent creative, communication and analytical skills.
• Some travel would be required to build relationships with direct and non-directly managed teams in the UK and other countries.
